Concord Colonial
New England Timeless
A portrait of the project
Concord Colonial sits in Concord, MA — a new england timeless kitchen built around the architecture, the light, and the way this family actually lives. A 1790s center-chimney colonial with original wide-board floors.
The challenge
A 1790s center-chimney colonial with original wide-board floors. The existing kitchen was a 1970s addition that felt grafted on and structurally unsound.
The solution
A respectful rebuild with inset painted shaker cabinetry in heritage white and Vermont soapstone counters. A butler's pantry restores the period-correct service flow.

Architect's approach
How we designed it.
The brief was longevity. We specified materials that improve with age, joinery that can be serviced in fifty years, and a plan that will absorb decades of family use without losing its composure. Every detail was reviewed against a single test: will this still feel right in 2055?

About the style
New England Luxury Kitchens.
New England luxury is restraint with provenance. Beadboard, painted millwork, soapstone, brass — vocabulary inherited from coastal Federal and Greek Revival homes, edited for how Massachusetts families actually cook today. Built once. Built well. Built to outlast the trend cycle.
